The word mobile has evolved since the past couple of decades. Mobile is generally attributed with the most popular method of communication.

First definition of mobile was “communication over phone” and without land lines.

Then there came Palm. They were specialized mobile office solutions. They offered to help you with your day to day time management. It was
mobile but it required wired synchronization. It was beyond its era but the price tag vas quite high. People preferred to buy mobile phones
instead of palm devices because basic mobile phone also offered basic functions such as alarm, calendar and etc. Although mobile phones did not offer synchronization at that time people still get to talk on the phone and synchronize kind of verbally.

Apple took a giant leap with iPod. it was mobile it was personal and it was a music stereo they did not only offered quality listening but they also offered available content for it so average consumer that did not know how to download digital music could easily purchase music of their taste from itunes store.

I'm not mentioning the marketing genius of white earphones or its patented track controls. While this was going on mobile internet took a deep hit with its wap bullshit. It was slower than any other internet communication available and there was not enough content to go trough that suffering

Then mobile phones started to come with on board digital cameras. Newly added cameras required mobile phones to have better resolution in device screens, combined with portable digital music father of walkman and king of portable digital cameras venture sony ericsson started to kick apple's ass with their photo taking, music listening calendar syncing telephones. But the internet browsing experience sucked. They still needed mobile optimized web sites to browse nicely.

By that time mobile internet connection showed some progress because mobile phone users demanded so. People wanted to share the pictures they have taken. Photos are memories and human nature needs to get a hold of these memories, to print, share and show off. At that time you either had to sync your phone with your pc or send it mms to get a full access of the photo taken by your phone. Since mms was a costly and has some limitations on the file size phones started to come with e-mail clients that helped them to use as another medium of communication.

This is where apple came in. They came up with a mobile phone with all of the above but with much better browsing experience and a bonus
application experience As I’ve mentioned smart phones are only as smart as their owners but application developers offered something else practicality (and perhaps their intellect)

If you wonder that the definition of mobile evolved to? Mobile is now digital personal entertainment centers with broad band internet connection and tools to consume the most of the content over internet o and some phone talking too.
